High-purity ingredient water for the food & beverage industry.
Overview
Nurion is a compact and skid-mounted reverse osmosis (RO) system that was developed based on two main principles — a partial hygienic design and the production of high quality reverse osmosis water, compliant with the ingredient water market.
The Nurion system differs from a standard industrial RO system not only by its hygienic design but also by the manufacturing materials used, which make it possible to minimize the risks of bacteriological contamination. Nurion uses components for the production of ingredient water such as stainless steel piping, and controlled welding. It also follows European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) guidelines on the permeate line. These elements coupled with appropriate pretreatment ensure microbial control and a highly consistent water quality with no unwanted tastes or odors in the final product.
As a standard equipment, Nurion can be used in production sites as one single solution allowing customers to get the ingredient water solution aligned with the highest quality standards in their country..
How Nurion works?
As with any other reverse osmosis equipment water is passed through a permeable membrane which retains dissolved solids, virus, bacteria and other contaminants that may be present in the influent water. What makes Nurion different from other RO products is the hygienic design of the permeate line, this design includes several mechanical and hydraulic considerations to avoid dead legs, minimize surface roughness and any other conditions that may promote microbial growth. Thanks to Nurion hygienic design we can guarantee a product water compliant with the ingredient water market.
To better suit your needs, Nurion is available in six models, covering a wide range of flow rates from 5 to 25m3/hr thus offering a complete solution that combines reliability and flexibility.

FAQ about Nurion™
What is water used as an ingredient?
Water used as an ingredient in the production process of the food & beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. The main characteristics of ingredient water are low turbidity, and a biologically perfect quality, i.e. free from taste, odor, color and undesirable impurities which could harm human health.
Why is ingredient water required in the production of infant formula?
The manufacture of infant formula is subject to strict food safety and quality standards, so it is crucial to use high-quality water approved for human consumption during the production process. And that's exactly what ingredient water offers. Biologically perfect, ingredient water guarantees a water free from taste, odor, color and impurities such as lead, pesticides, germs, viruses or nitrates which can cause, in severe circumstances, poisoning that can lead to death.
How is Nurion different from standard industrial reverse osmosis systems?
Reverse osmosis, a separative technology using membranes to remove some of the soluble salts contained in water, has existed for many years. Nurion differs from a standard industrial reverse osmosis system as it was developed with a hygienic and standardized design that minimizes the risks of microbial contamination while offering the possibility to be installed and started in a very short time.
